Under the wide, amber skies of Florida’s Nature Coast, Colt Jaxon learned to mend fences and rope calves before he ever strummed a guitar. Hailing from a small ranch, Colt is quickly making waves as a songwriting and performing powerhouse. He weaves stories of Cowboy culture and the state of the world into songs that make you dance and reflect. Cutting his teeth on Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, the Turnpike Troubadours, and Ian Tyson, Colt has taken those influences and made something fresh that Nashville hasn’t seen in a long time.
What sets Colt apart is his genuine Cowboy roots and his bold storytelling approach that blends classic sounds with sharp social commentary. As one of the few new voices putting the modern American ranch experience at the front of his music, Colt brings a fresh narrative to the country scene at a moment when audiences are hungry for authenticity and real stories. At a time when country music wrestles publicly with questions of tradition versus innovation, debates over genre boundaries, and renewed attention on whose voices are heard in rural narratives, Colt’s work offers a unique bridge. “I write songs about the people and places that shaped me,” Colt says. “If I can make someone feel understood or less alone, then I’ve done my job as a songwriter.” His upcoming release, Horses are Right, addresses themes of resilience and the changing American landscape, making it especially timely amid today’s cultural conversations about heritage and identity. Currently based in Nashville, Colt is seeking the next horizon. With Country, Americana, and Western Swing blaring out of him like a jukebox, those tunes are being released after a long time of cultivation and preparation. His debut single, Bluebird, is set for release in November 2025, introducing Colt’s unique sound to a wider audience. Following closely, his next single, Horses are Right, is scheduled to drop in April 2026. Colt will also support these releases with a series of live performances throughout spring and summer 2026, including shows across the country at dance halls and select festivals. Additional singles and an EP are planned for later in the year, with specific dates to be announced soon. Colt has lived many lifetimes for his age, as he writes about heartbreak, addiction, and finding peace in the chaos of this world.
