HASH CABBAGE IS AN IMPROVISATIONAL ROCK BAND BASED OUT OF NEW ORLEANS, LA.
Founded in New Orleans, Hash Cabbage plays Kozmic Psychedelic American Music. Hash Cabbage has an eclectic sound with a variety of influences from southern rock, improvisational jazz, reggae, funk, outlaw country all the way to surreal psychedelia. Rooted in both rock improv and traditional singer/songwriter structure, Hash Cabbage proudly admits that it doesn’t fully fall into any particular subgenre and skates on the edges of many.
Hash Cabbage released its second full length 11-track album entitled “The Gospel According to Hash Cabbage” in April, 2021.
An idiosyncratic artist with a background in classical piano, Stacy Antonel makes jazzy, country-leaning, clever Americana that feels both vintage and hyper-modern at the same time. Rooted in classic country but influenced by jazz, pop, and R&B, her throwback “country jazz” style conjures the 20s-30s musical era when jazz and country weren’t such disparate genres. There’s a complex, conversational quality to her lyrics, reminiscent of alt-rocker Courtney Barnett, paired with the effortless, emotive vocal power of country icon Patsy Cline. “I like passionate, full-throated singing,” says Antonel. “I want the notes to burst out of me.” Now based in Nashville, Antonel is poised to release her Americana debut Always the Outsider, featuring compelling, narrative storylines (taking a page from Willie Nelson’s songbook), agile vocal melodies, and unexpected thematic twists.
Coming back to the press stage is Nederland, CO jam band River Spell!
Formed in 2022, River Spell is a Colorado-based jam band delivering heartfelt songwriting and extended improvisation. The band features Grant Livingston on acoustic guitar/vocals, Ben Maillaro on electric guitar, Jake DeMarco on bass, and Dylan French on drums.
