Sophie Sanders

Sophie Sanders is a soft-spoken songwriter, and sometimes singer-songwriter, who comes by her love for words honestly. She was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and grew up watching her Dad write country music. It wasn’t until her early 20’s that she realized any interest in following suit.

Sanders graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 with a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology. The week after graduation, she found herself picking up a guitar for the first time. The obsession came immediately. The songs came soon after. Sanders served as a Peace Corps volunteer in East Java, Indonesia, from 2012-2013, bringing a little guitar and her burgeoning interest in making music with her. Once she came back home to Music City, she was home to stay.

Sanders now lives with her husband, their baby boy and their chunky cat. She is a full-time mama and a when she can find the time songwriter. She loves books, baking, and being outside with her son. She believes alliteration is the spice of life. Sophie released her first record, “Steep and Shining Spaces,” in November of 2018. Her next project, “Taller,” is set to release July 26, 2024.
