DESCRIPTION:The Morningside String Band is based out of Steamboat Springs\, CO. The band formed in 2019 originally as an acoustic trio\, but they’ve since expanded to a 5 piece\, adding percussion and electric guitar\, though they still often play smaller venues as a trio. The current lineup includes: Craig Thornhill (acoustic guitar\, vocals) / Paul Geppert (mandolin and vocals) / Tim Cunningham (upright bass) / Courtney La Zier (electric guitar and vocals) and Gabe Hedstrom (drums/percussion/jokes). \nThe band tends to have an eclectic mix of songs in their live shows\, mixing originals and covers\, rooted in blues\, reggae\, bluegrass\, funk\, jam and rock. All the members of the band have lived in various parts of Colorado for decades and played in many other music projects over the years. The band’s sounds lends its self to live performances\, adapting their setlists and jams/arrangements to the energy of the crowds and venue. The band is known around Steamboat for playing festive outdoor gigs in the spring and summer.

DESCRIPTION:Lena Marie Schiffer is a folk singer and songwriter based in Livingston\, Montana. After spending ten years touring nationally with the band\, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs\, she has since embarked on a solo career\, performing under her own name and continuing to pursue her passion for songwriting and connecting with an audience. \nLena writes original lyrics that offer deeply personal reflections and insightful observations of the world\, creating a connection with her audience wherever she goes. Her innate ability to relate to others drives her passion to write and share her songs. \nIn 2024\, Lena began developing her eponymous project that leans into folk\, indie\, and Americana influences. She paired up with Ani Casabonne on fiddle\, and together they have formed a duo that is bound by a natural chemistry that is undeniable when hearing them play.

DESCRIPTION:Eva Rose King is a Colorado folk artist using rich vocals and acoustic tones to dig deep into memory and vulnerability. Her songs pay homage to the subtle and the beautiful\, using visual storytelling and classical harmonies to create a world that listeners can get lost in. \nEva recently released her sophomore album\, After Tale (February 2025)\, which explores feelings of loneliness. Drawing on experiences during COVID and from a decade away from home\, these songs represent words said too late. This album evokes the styles of Gillian Welch\, Leonard Cohen\, and Norah Jones. \nEva released her debut album On the Other Side in 2021\, which touches on themes of dreams and perception\, resilience\, and pining. Eva also released Complex Feelings (EP) in 2023\, which consists of playful folk-jazz-pop songs. \nNotably\, Eva found her way to music through the decade she spent playing the viola in symphony orchestras\, a background which still influences her music today. \nEva has warmed the stage for Willie Watson\, Old Crow Medicine Show\, Sunny War\, and Ben Sollee and was a finalist in the 2024 Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s Troubadour Competition. \nEva holds a second career as an environmental scientist\, where she studies and teaches biodiversity\, climate change and environmental justice. Her passion for nature and equity ring loud in all corners of her life.
